This exhibition includes the work of the participants of the 10-day democraSEE MAPUTO photography workshop, conducted by John Fleetwood, a South African based curator, with Mozambican photographer Mauro Vombe.
The workshop looked at visibilities, invisibilities and erasures that are part of any process of making images, and how these in/visibilities position photographers and their work in the context of larger socio-political discussions of our times

The democraSEE workshop is a two-week photography encounter in Maputo to encourage new photography stories and discussions on issues relating to how we understand our changing world and changes within photography. These workshops will be conducted by John Fleetwood, photography educator, curator and Photo: director, with Mauro Vombe, Mozambican photographer.

The exhibition forms part of the Photobook Week Aarhus 2020 festival and will run from the 1-4 October 2020 at Gallery Image, Denmark.
The exhibition deals with notions of intimacy and resistance by looking at intergenerational exchanges and books.

This Wikipedia initiative, led by Fouad Asfour, a research associate from Wits University, is part of a series of workshops aiming to enable participants to upload new articles and or expand on existing entries while also addressing issues around notability and verifiability.
